about

March 31st and I just put up five songs without lyrics to show myself this record is almost done. I will write words and sing them maybe this week . . Here are the liner notes from earlier: The RPM Challenge is to make a record in the month of February. I have participated several times, and this is this year's record brought to you as it emerges. This year my percussion is the bedroom door standing in for a bassdrum and brushes on an open notebook (pages written on sound better) with occasional shakers and antique ceramic electrical insulators. A soda can and an altoids box. A cue ball and a golf ball. And old recordings I never got around to using of me drumming on an actual drumset. Whales is from college I just never recorded it to my liking before. Laika is an old song from 2oo3. It was an Antique Sixguns standard for a while. We used to call it Sputnik Woofer when we played it but I figure the dog deserves the title. Missoula is an old one from 2ooo I wrote on a classical guitar so fingerpicking and totally forgot about it until this morning I tried it with a pick. About the record's title: Years ago I wrote a song poking fun at the Tea Party Movement, called Little Davids. Now their dream is come true in a way. Kids in cages and other signifiers of collective rot. So the title is not necessarily reflective of my personal thinking on modern America and the world, but I do contend it is a legitimate point of view. Leapyear Day now and I just finished Prove Me Wrong, so I am calling this done in time for RPM. Two hours to spare . .
Okay so I did finish but somehow the official site didn't register it, same as happened a few years back. Technology.
Then March happened and I did a remake my Pneumonia song from Bodies of Water in honor of the quarantine.
