The South Street apartment in Northampton, Masschusetts, from November 2oo6 until June the next year, my Sister had gotten me a computer (Thank you Rachael!) so these are the first digital recordings. I had much to learn. The percussion on The Mad Drownded Saint is me playing the cord of a massage table with drumsticks. I could change its pitch by how I sat on it.
Hugo's began as the drum beat I recorded on my friend's drums in the barn at a weekend party in New Hampshire (Thanks Carl and Kerri!).
There are some do-overs here of old songs of mine: Under the PIer is NYC 9os Leif, as is Isolation Chamber, and Two Blondes is from Troy. and Crows I wrote in 2oo3 and performed here in 2oo7. The companion record to this is Loam Groan, recorded on the other side of town the next year.
