This is the first record I made in Spokane, the one before Black Tourmaline. December 2oo7, snowed in on the South Hill. Red Oil (aka Jenny Hyde) got me a drumset and this is what happened. Shadle and Garland are North Side neighborhoods some folks call Felony Flats. Who? These songs are all from that month, except Hot & Cold Flashes, a do-over of a song I wrote in 1994. It contains the one and only curse on a Leif Mulch record. It doesn't seem too out of place. The record is meant to set a mood of bleak midwinter and cold concrete. A crime blotter party planner maybe.
