about

Listening to this in '21 I have to say I hate this record but among my idols is Dexter Romweber who puts out recordings like batches of cookies so, I leave it as is for history to decide. It's basically leftovers, but here are the liner notes I had before --
This one has songs from way back when on through this year (Keep Me Awake, Red Red Rose). Ipomoea Violacea is a remake of one I made in 1995, in the 6th Floor apartment in Washington Heights. Moongoddess is from 1997 in Elizaville, New York - the song is. The recording is from South Street in Northampton a decade later. I remember messing up the guitar part right at the opening and deciding it was atmosphere. Lucky Day I wrote on a busride from Boston to New York in 2o11 and recorded in the middle of that same night very softly in the basement of my friends' house in Brooklyn. And Hunker Down is an ancestor to Collarbones, on Nerve Balm. I wrote it in 1996. Armed and Tripping is an extra from Apple-green Cardigan. Swollen or golden is from 2oo5. There is a version that didn't make it onto Snow Day due to its being terrible, but this is from South street again, that classical guitar with an extra hole in it I got for a dollar and gave away later to a Mathematician from Georgia. Details. And Where is Mount Parnassus is the oldest one on here. I wrote it because this Korean Christian denomination whose name I forget had a big rally in midtown Manhattan telling one and all the end of the world was coming. That was 1993. I played it at the open mic I used to go to on the lower west side there where it's all loading docks a block or two from the Henry Hudson.. McSomebody-or-other's. They never IDed me there. Sophie's either. CBs either. Those were the days . .
