These are the last of the 4-tracks, chronologically. After this I got a computer and began the learning process of digital recording, but I kept some of the habits from these 4-track days. I usually recorded drums first, by this time anyway. Then bass, if there was any, and guitars and voice last of all. Like baking cookies. Tracks 12, 13 & 15 are from 2ooo in Troy. I just happened on them, and When the Sea is a Field is my Mom's favorite. I wrote it when I was seventeen, in high school in Taiwan. I guess I was homesick. Many of these wound up in the Antique Sixguns setlist, during our brief reign as Brooklyn's messiest band. The rest of these are from the basement on Spencer street in Bed-Stuy. Long ago gone days. I still do love them, somewhere in my aches and pains. Oh yeah Slackstring is the last song I played on my first guitar, Katie Green, who was so fully done in by then it was sad. I recorded that on my Mom's clock radio, standing at the kitchen sink sometime in the '9os. So, a tiny artifact.
